Couples to tie the knot at sea

Couples can now get married at sea by ship Captains onboard Celebrity cruises. These ceremonies have been launched to run alongside existing vow renewal and in-port wedding services.

Celebrity Cruises can now offer the option for Captains to perform legal marriages at sea following the recent re-registration of seven of its eight ships in Malta where government regulations have changed to allow this. Celebrity is in partnership with The Wedding Experience and guests married at sea will be offered a variety of packages. These packages include private receptions in the ship’s speciality restaurant to cake and champagne.

It is believed to be especially lovely for guests to either get married or renew their vows in the breathtaking scenery of Alaska, amidst the hanging glaciers of the Girdwood Valley. The ceremonies can take place from June to September as part of a Celebrity cruisetour.
