Island Cruises living it up in the City

Island Cruises continue to be the perfect choice for those looking for a relaxed, friendly and informal cruise experience. Island Cruises are soon to be trialling a unique new shore excursion called the ‘Live the City Experience’ which will enable guests to truly make the most of their time spent in some of their favourite ports of call.

The new shore excursions are geared at providing Island Cruises guests with the perfect opportunity to combine sightseeing and entertainment, culminating in an interactive quiz finale with prizes to win.

Guests on board one of Island Cruises ships can choose to take park in the ‘Live the City Experience’ and having done so will be provided with a pack, including a detailed guidebook, map with illustrated route and a pen. The guidebook will lead guests around the city, indicating fascinating sights along the way and providing interesting facts as well. There will be treasure hunt clues to solve along the way and once back at the ship, guests will be able to discover how many clues they have solved correctly on interactive screens. The three guests who scored the highest will each win a great prize.

Ben Green, Product Development Manager - Island Cruises, 'I am very excited
about this new initiative, and am sure this trial will be a success. I
believe our guests will really enjoy the mix of sightseeing, discovery, and
entertainment offered by the Live The City experience.'

Island Cruises ‘Live the City Experience’ is being trialed on both ships in Barcelona from July.

Island Cruises to offer Barbadian Weddings

It has been revealed that the most popular destination for overseas wedding nuptials is exotic locations such as the Caribbean islands. There has been a huge growth in the number of people choosing to get married abroad, Carol Richardson, a spokesperson for wedding specialist Confetti, said.

A number of cruise lines offer the opportunity to be married at sea and now Island Cruises are launching a Caribbean weddings programme in Barbados which includes onboard ceremonies, while land-based venues are available at a supplemental cost. Couples wanting to exchange their vows at sea will have the chance to do this whilst combining their wedding with a luxury Caribbean cruise.

Island Cruises have also recently announced their Mediterranean itinerary for summer 2009, which includes new ports of call in Elba, Calvi, Cannes and Trapani in Sicily. They have also announced a fly-cruise itinerary called Mediterranean Splendour which includes calls to Naples, Civitavecchia, Calvi and Mahon and is aimed at previous customers.

Island Cruises Offers Singles Special

Cruises are notoriously expensive for guests traveling alone. Island Cruises have just made it cheaper for those people by reducing the single supplement by 50% on all Mediterranean cruises in April, May, June, October and November this year.

Island Cruises offers cruising with a relaxed dress code and dining as you want it along with luxurious surroundings and helpful and courteous staff. Travelling with Island Cruises gives you the chance to visit far out destinations such as the Mediterranean from its home port of Palma and Brazil to see Christ the Redemeer one of the world’s new 7 wonders. An Island cruise offers all this at an affordable price that is within even the most stringent of budgets.

Guests travelling along can enjoy themselves by doing as much or as little as they like. For those looking for a little company from fellow guests travelling alone there is a ‘Solos lunch’ held at the beginning of each cruise, offering the perfect opportunity to make acquaintances to enjoy throughout your cruise. Guests cold enjoy a lavish cocktail party by the pool, joining in with any number of the activities on offer or making the most of the extensive entertainment on board.
